WATER NON-UNIFORM HEATING x UNIFORM HEATING

MARKET DEMANDS: In the thawers currently available on the market, the water heating stage is generally performed in a non-uniform fashion, with a slow heat propagation rate in the water, creating hot and cold areas within the container. It greatly adds to the problem of temperature control, as both thermostat and sensor are often positioned at a fixed point. Temperature inconsistencies inside the container may reach up to several degrees centigrade.

THERMOSTATS x ELECTRONIC REGULATION

MARKET DEMANDS: Other devices in the market use thermostats for temperature control, which have proven to be inaccurate and unsuitable to perform such an important task. Thermostats are bi-metallic components with moving contacts that open and close according to variations in the degrees and thus causes water temperature to fluctuate. Water temperature may then vary between a high (after the thermostat has opened) and a low (after it has closed), both of which are unsuitable for the process, causing semen loss. These deviations are also affected by factors such as: room temperature variations; thermostat position in the container; water volume; and the container’s construction material and shape. Moreover, it’s still common in certain farms to thaw semen without the use of any heating device, causing financial losses to breeders.

LICHT SOLUTIONS: The WP-100 features state-of-the-art heating capacity with high-precision, micro-processed electronic regulation, ensuring temperature stabilization in the cup either in cold (0 °C) or warm (34 °C) environments, as well as under water. The correct positioning of the heating element and temperature sensor, as well as the container’s superior construction and design, provide a uniform temperature distribution, with neither cold nor hot spots. Licht is known for its strong engineering capabilities and so every device is factory calibrated to temperature standards tested by the Brazilian Technology Research Institute (IPT). Licht employs the same tools that it uses to calibrate its industry-sector products, which are required to be tested at official, INMETRO-certified laboratories and according to Brazilian Calibration Network (RBC) standards.

THERMOMETERS x TEMPERATURE SENSOR

MARKET DEMANDS: Many devices are not equipped with thermometers. Others have individual thermometers that, when inserted in water, provide a single-point reading which varies at every measurement. Even digital thermometers can produce serious deviations or failures, and most of them are not calibration-certified. In addition to temperature inaccuracy, they are also subject to damages, breakages, losses, battery failures, etc. Users may always face the risk of not having a thermometer available at the time they need it the most.
